WHAT IS FEA?

FEA & CFD Engineering Calculations

FEA (Finite Element Analysis) is a simulation method used to predict how a part or structure will respond to mechanical loads, pressure, vibration, and heat. KS Projects provides FEA analysis to validate designs before manufacturing — reducing the risk of structural failure and costly redesign after tooling.

WHAT IS CFD?

CFD BLOCK

CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulates how fluids and gases move through or around a geometry. We use CFD to analyze airflow, pressure drop, and thermal behavior in components such as enclosures, ducts, filters, and industrial equipment.

WHEN COMPANIES NEED ENGINEERING CALCULATIONS

  • Validating a design before committing to tooling or production

  • Reducing product weight while maintaining structural integrity

  • Investigating the root cause of a field failure or prototype issue

  • Comparing two design alternatives without building both physically

  • Supporting internal design reviews with quantitative data

SIMULATION AND VALIDATION

Every analysis is set up with clearly documented boundary conditions, loads, and assumptions. Results are presented with stress maps, displacement plots, or flow visualizations, along with a written summary explaining what the results mean for your design.

REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

Each analysis is delivered with a clear report: methodology, assumptions, results, and engineering recommendations. Reports are written to be useful both for your internal engineering team and, where needed, for discussion with your manufacturer.

TOOLS / SOFTWARE

We use industry-standard simulation software for FEA and CFD analysis, selected based on the complexity and physics of your specific project.

FAQ

What is FEA analysis used for?

DELIVERABLES

FEA analysis predicts how a part will respond to mechanical loads, pressure, vibration, or temperature — helping identify weak points and validate a design before manufacturing.

DELIVERABLES

What is CFD analysis used for?

CFD analysis simulates fluid and airflow behavior, helping evaluate thermal management, pressure drop, and flow performance in a design.

What is the difference between FEA and CFD?

A CAD model of the part, along with the expected loads, materials, and operating conditions. We can help define these details if they are not yet fully specified.

What deliverables are included in project engineering?

Deliverables include coordinated technical documentation, design and analysis outputs, and a complete manufacturing-ready package at the end of the engagement.

Do you provide engineering analysis reports?

Yes. Every analysis is delivered with a written report covering methodology, assumptions, results, and recommendations.
